NISSAN MAXIMA QX,

Overview

The Nissan Maxima is a good large car. The Maxima features a powerful V6 engine. It also boasts a solid list of active safety features and a user-friendly infotainment system. Nissan brands the Maxima as a sports sedan but its handling is fairly snooze-worthy. The Maxima also disappoints when it comes to space, especially given its market segment.

Inside

The Nissan Maxima sedan seats five people. There's sufficient bolstering for the front seats and support is good in both rows. The standard power adjustments for both front seats make it fairly easy to find an ideal seating position. The Maxima is available with plenty of seating upgrades, including heated and ventilated front seats, driver’s seat power lumbar adjustments, driver’s seat memory settings, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, and heated rear seats. In general, the Maxima has a pleasing interior with soft-touch surfaces and quality materials. It offers 14.3 cubic feet. The Maxima's standard infotainment system is intuitive and features an 8-inch touch screen and Smartphone integration via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Driving

The Maxima delivers a comfortable ride, travelling with poise over bumps in the road. The composure also makes the Maxima feel more at home as a cruiser than a corner-carver. There's little feedback from the road, and the handling is dull. The Nissan Maxima is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 300 horsepower. Most large cars have standard V6 engines with around the same output. The front-wheel-drive Nissan Maxima has a plush ride, but it comes at the expense of agility. The steering is very numb.
