Toyota FJ Cruiser is a midsize rear or four wheel drive SUV that has retro – inspiring styling and was built from 2007 to 2014 with a design offering tribute to 1960s era Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. It features a narrow front grille with traditional “TOYOTA” lettering centered across it. A pair of round 5-inch headlight gives the model a look much like the earlier FJ40 and it has similar styled hood, fenders as well as a rear-mounted full size spare tire.
The interior of the Toyota FJ features many design elements focused on enhancing off-road practicality. All the interior surfaces are covered with washable rubber materials to aid in fast cleanup after heavy outdoor use. The FJ also incorporates oversized controls to aid drivers with gloved hands. The three- gauge cluster (with compass, temperature and inclinometer) as well as the 110 volt rear outlet was carried over from the FJ concepts vehicle as options on the final production model.
Toyota FJ cruiser is low in fuel consumption (estimated as 17/21 mpg city/Highway for a 4WD automatic, 15/19 mpg for a 4WD with 6-speed manual gearbox and 17/22 mpg for 2WD automatic.
